Unit Manager - Nursing Home

At Resorts at Pooler, a leading provider of high-quality nursing care in Pooler, Georgia, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Unit Manager to join our team. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of nursing staff and providing exceptional care to our residents.

Job Summary:

As a Unit Manager, you will assume responsibility for a specific unit or area within the organization, including assessment, medication distribution, treatment clinical documentation, and supervision of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other staff. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize dual identifiers to confirm resident identity prior to medication administration and treatments

  • Practice SBAR (situation, background, assessment, recommendation) when interacting with healthcare community members

  • Encourage resident involvement in their own care when possible

  • Receive full and detailed reports from outgoing nurses to ensure proper communication and necessary follow-up of resident care

  • Recognize and respond competently to changes in resident condition and document appropriately

  • Initiate Plan of Care on admission and review, evaluate, and update plan and interventions as needed

  • Interact and partner with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure continuum of care

  • Practice Standard Precautions and adhere to infection prevention strategies

  • Demonstrate compliance with Resident Rights

Facility-Wide Responsibilities:

  • Speak English in patient care areas

  • Attend mandatory and scheduled in-services/meetings

  • Arrive to work on time as scheduled

  • Demonstrate ability to work with others cooperatively

  • Demonstrate flexibility in assignment to meet resident/family needs

  • Wear ID at all times appropriately when working

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed by the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Current CPR or certified within 90 days of hire

  • Other certifications may be required for other areas of the organization
