Multi Unit Director information

What is a multi unit director?

Multi Unit Directors are professionals responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple business locations or units within an organization, commonly in industries like retail, hospitality, or food service. They ensure each unit meets company standards for performance, customer service, and profitability. Multi Unit Directors manage unit managers, coordinate strategic initiatives, and work to achieve overall business goals across their assigned areas. Their role also involves analyzing performance data, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a multi unit director?

To thrive as a Multi Unit Director, you need strong leadership, operational management, and financial acumen, typically backed by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and significant multi-site management experience. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, scheduling software, and performance analytics tools is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team development skills distinguish top performers in this role. These abilities are critical for ensuring consistent operational excellence, driving business growth, and leading high-performing teams across multiple locations.

What are some common challenges faced by multi unit directors when managing multiple locations, and how can they be addressed?

Multi Unit Directors often encounter challenges such as maintaining consistent operational standards across diverse locations, ensuring effective communication, and balancing varying team dynamics. To address these, successful directors implement standardized processes, conduct regular site visits, and foster open communication channels between teams. Leveraging technology for real-time reporting and focusing on leadership development within each unit can also help streamline operations and promote consistency.

Restaurant Manager - Clear Path to GM at Culver’s

Looking for a Manager role where you can actually grow? Culver’s is hiring a Restaurant Manager with a real path to General Manager and multi-unit leadership for the right person. If you love leading people, running a smooth shift, and seeing your team win — let’s talk this week.

Pay & Benefits

•      $17–$23/hour based on experience (full-time, 40+ hours)

•      Next Day Pay — get paid the day after you work

•      Health, Dental & Vision benefits available

•      Free meals on every shift and free uniforms

•      Paid best-in-class training through Culver’s national management programs

•      Direct deposit and flexible scheduling

A Real Path Forward

This isn’t a “someday, maybe” growth promise. We have a defined path from Manager to General Manager and multi-unit leadership within our organization for managers who consistently deliver results — typically a 12–24 month journey for the right person. It takes real work, but the door is genuinely open.

What You’ll Do

•      Run great shifts — lead the team, set the pace, keep guests happy

•      Coach and develop team members, from new hires to shift leaders

•      Build schedules that work for the business and your team

•      Hit the numbers — labor, food cost, speed of service, guest scores

•      Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and Culver’s operational standards

•      Step in wherever the team needs you — we lead from the floor

Who We’re Looking For

•      1–2 years of restaurant or retail leadership experience preferred (QSR, fast-casual, or full-service all count)

•      A natural leader who can rally a team and stay calm in the rush

•      Strong communicator — with your team, your guests, and your GM

•      Comfortable with numbers (labor, food cost, scheduling)

•      Open availability — evenings, weekends, and holidays as the business needs

•      Must be 18+

Job Details

•      Job Type: Full-Time

•      Shifts: Day, Afternoon, Evening, Weekend availability

About Culver's

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

In 1984, Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver's in the family’s beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and began serving ButterBurgers® and Frozen Custard. Craveable as our signature combination is, the Culver family knew right away that although the business is centered around the food, it is really about the people. While folks can vividly recall the first time they bit into a ButterBurger or tasted a scoop of rich, creamy Fresh Frozen Custard, it’s our way of welcoming guests that truly makes Culver’s delicious.
