Job description

Overview

What began in 2017 as an idea on the back of a napkin has quickly become an award-winning, fastest-growing communications firm working with some big-name consumer and B2B technology brands. At SourceCode, weโ€™re focused on bringing brains and hustle, humanity and technology, creativity and business intelligence back to public relations.

SourceCodeโ€™s Account Coordinators are not expected to remain on the sidelines of an account and are encouraged to be active, curious, and collaborative members of the team. Weโ€™re looking for a motivated professional with 0โ€“1 years of PR experience (or strong internship background) to become a valued teammate and foundational support for our clients. We want our Account Coordinators to take on real responsibilities and embrace opportunities that help them grow rapidly as professionals. Opportunity here is earned, initiative is rewarded, and success is celebrated across the wider team.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Draft Client Materials: Write press releases, media pitches, and client reports, collaborating with senior team members to refine and polish content.
  • Build Media Networks: Conduct research to build targeted media lists using tools like Muck Rack, support daily outreach, and pitch stories with a goal of converting opportunities 60%โ€“70% of the time.
  • Monitor Coverage & Trends: Track media coverage and analyze Muck Rack data to identify industry themes and trends for regular client reports.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with client contacts over Slack, email, and status calls to deliver updates and draft client messages with minimal edits.
  • News Monitoring: Read and share relevant daily news that connects to client priorities, helping to identify and lead rapid-response media opportunities.
  • Campaign Tracking: Monitor speaker opportunities, awards, event calendars, and seasonal editorial calendars to maximize client success.
  • Influencer & Social Support: Research and identify targeted influencers and assist with social calendar management and content creation.
  • Account Logistics: Deliver accurate meeting agendas, action items, call reports, and recap emails to team leads for review.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and track account workflows across teams to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Active Brainstorming: Bring creative thinking and vocal contributions to internal and client brainstorming and planning sessions.
  • Goal Alignment: Maintain awareness of client goals and KPIs, proactively alerting team members with recommendations if tasks fall behind schedule.
  • Operational Excellence: Learn agency processes, maintain accurate time-tracking, and support business health by understanding the impact of under/over-servicing clients.
  • Business Development: Support agency growth by participating and taking an active role in business development.
  • Skill Growth: Actively develop your writing skills, stay current on industry trends, and participate in professional development sessions per quarter.
