Job description

Job Title: Receiving Supervisor - Second Shift.

Department:Warehouse Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound warehouse operations and leading the receiving team to ensure shipments are received accurately, safely, and on time.


This role requires a strong understanding of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and receiving processes. The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that every item physically received matches the information entered into the WMS, including purchase orders, packing lists, ASNs, and shipping documents. Inventory accuracy starts with receiving, making this one of the most critical responsibilities of the position.


Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead the daily activities of the receiving department.

Coordinate inbound deliveries and container unloading.

Ensure all shipments are received accurately and processed on time.

Verify that all physical inventory matches purchase orders, packing lists, ASNs, and system records.

Ensure all receiving transactions are completed accurately in the WMS before inventory is released for put-away or shipping.

Investigate and resolve shortages, overages, damaged goods, SKU mismatches, and other receiving discrepancies.

Monitor all open receipts and ensure there are no incomplete or incorrect receiving transactions in the system.

Maintain accurate inventory records by ensuring physical inventory always matches the WMS.

Work closely with Inventory Control, Shipping, Production, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve receiving issues.

Train and coach receiving associates on proper receiving procedures and WMS transactions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.

Prepare daily reports on receiving activity, productivity, and outstanding issues.

Identify opportunities to improve receiving processes, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.


Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of warehouse receiving experience.

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a large warehouse environment.

Strong knowledge of warehouse receiving procedures and inventory control.

Required: Hands-on experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and the ability to accurately process receiving transactions.

Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Forklift experience or certification is preferred.


Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Work Schedule

The anticipated base salary is $70-$75K annually.Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and location.
