Position Function:
This position performs a variety of basic facilities and grounds support at CMREC, the Brown Loam Branch Experiment Station in Raymond, and the Truck Crops Branch Experiment Station in Crystal Springs.
Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.
Salary Grade: UC

Anticipated Appointment Date:
August 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with general building maintenance and upkeep, including but not limited to pressure washing, painting, minor repairs, and cleaning.
2. Assist with general landscaping maintenance and upkeep, including but not limited to mowing, weed eating, fencing, limb/debris pickup and removal, painting, and minor repairs.
3. Assist in cleaning and servicing University vehicles and equipment.
4. Assist in moving equipment and non-hazardous materials.
5. Assists with feeding farm animals.
6. Assists with event setup and take-down as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school education or GED.
Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Farm-related work experience beyond the minimum required.
2. Previous experience with farm and/or facilities operations.
3. Previous experience with landscaping.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Mechanical and technical skills related to essential duties and responsibilities.
Ability to follow directions, get along well with others, and meet supervisor expectations.
Ability to travel to multiple sites in a University vehicle.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
2. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to
50 pounds.
3. Will operate and work in close proximity with heavy farm equipment.
4. Possible contact with herbicides and pesticides.
5. Must be comfortable working around farm animals.
6. Must be willing to occasionally work assignments outside of normal business hours to include weekend hours.
