Job description

Job Description ***This posting is to recruit for both civilian and enlisted interest.*** This position serves as the Intelligence Operations Division assistant commander and assists with the coordination and leadership of the division including the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center (MIOC), Cyber Section, and Operations Section. This is accomplished by ensuring the effective delivery of statewide services of the four regional communications centers, MSP Operations, the Michigan Cyber Command Center, seven Computer Crimes Unit field offices, the MIOC and the Detroit & Southeast Michigan Intelligence & Information Center (DSEMIIC). This position assumes command when the division commander is not available and requires that the employee be available for duty at any hour of the day

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies.

The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service. Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience Five years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to a specialist or manager at the 13-level or higher. Alternate Education and Experience Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level(State Police Lieutenant 14);or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level(State Police First Lieutenant 15), may be substituted for the education and experience requirements. Additional Requirements and Information This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
