EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience
    7 years of progressive management/leadership experience
    Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    (RN) REGISTERED NURSE Current State of Texas Registered Nurse License or
    (NLC) NURSING LICENSURE COMPACT-BNE

JOB DUTIES
  • Demonstrate continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall annual Hospital performance improvement targets. Develops, maintains, and evaluates organizational systems to facilitate documentation for the plan, delivery of care, and patient outcomes. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of staff, unit/department performance and operations in conjunction with organizational strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department. Incorporates budget planning, monitoring, and evaluating individual cost centers. Manages the fiscal operation of the organization's nursing informatics plans to ensure utilization of staff and resources efficient and cost effective.
  • Demonstrates critical judgment necessary to assess environment (internal & external), and implement strategic initiatives necessary to meet performance targets. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice documentation and nursing services administration. Serve as an agent of change, assisting all staff in understanding the importance, necessity, impact and process of change.
  • Creates a work environment that ensures patient safety and quality hallmarks of design are facilitated within the EMR and encourages nursing staff to demonstrate accountability for their own practice, an environment that utilizes critical thinking. Provides leadership and collaboration in determining department of nursing standards and scope of service.
  • Optimizes nursing's ability to design the EMR to capture outcomes measurement and evidence-based practice. Supports nursing data retrieval for participation in programs of study (e.g., National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators). Applies current research in operating practice, maintain current knowledge of changes that could impact areas of responsibility (e.g., regulatory, reimbursement, competition, etc.) Incorporating evidence-based best practice in accord with the organizational healthcare goals.
  • Evaluate and review systems and processes of nursing service/ electronic documentation to ensure achievement of nurse-sensitive, patient-, client-, or family-centered outcomes. Sets and enforces high standards for customer satisfaction, professional conduct, and clinical practice, serving as a role model for others, i.e., Press Ganey; CMS; THCIC: benchmarking, etc. Serve as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, recruit, and retain future nurse leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
