The Senior Associate Director, Site MSAT strategically and technically leads all aspects of the site's MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) processes within the site to drive transformational change and increase efficiency within the Production environment. This position has the responsibility of aligning MSAT strategies through execution of projects that are aligned with the site strategy and KPIs. This role also oversees the transfer of all new technical process transfers including definition of strategy and regulatory and budget requirements.  

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drives MSAT improvement identification by partnering with the Functional Area Heads and relevant local stakeholders.
  • Ensures MSAT initiatives are integrated with site strategy/business plan(s), Regulatory Agencies, and established global and local BI processes and practices.
  • Leads the overall strategy and planning of the MSAT team to ensure quality implementation according to clearly detailed expectations and requirements.
  • Directs, develops and mentors employees to overall success of team.
  • Adds value, and advances by leading, supporting, coaching, suggesting alternatives, providing insight, and removing obstacles.
  • Evaluates, and recommends MSAT projects/changes within Production that support process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Identifies and effectively utilizes necessary resources and skill sets required to advance the team/projects and long-term team sustainability.
  • Consults resources to benchmark internal skills and performance and adjust accordingly.
  • Develops visibility outside of functional area and effectively interacts scientifically with Key Opinion Leaders in relevant fields of concern.
  • Effectively liaises internally with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establishes and drives initiatives to ensure the development, implementation, and sustainment of new/automated processes and strategies.
  • Implements and monitors product and process improvement practices and procedures.
  • Ensures key deliverables relating to product and process quality, cost and schedule adherence are met. Support and/or coordinate the launch of products.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes a clear and compelling improvement strategy within the site through partnership with the local leaders and stakeholders.
  • Acts as an active "Champion of Change" looking to promote a winning vision that is consistent with the site and global strategies through identification of MSAT approaches that are aligned with the site's overall strategy.
  • Directs and oversees technical transfers within MSAT team. Interacts with International Project Leaders within the Core Team in reporting of project progress, including budgetary responsibilities to steering committees.
  • Defines key regulatory strategy, timeline, resource requirements and communicates progress and risks regularly to key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, pharma technology, biology, business or related field.
  • In addition to a bachelor's degree, incumbent must have a minimum of eight (8) of MSAT/scientific experience within a GMP biological vaccine and/or pharmaceutical production environment.
  • Experience must be inclusive of a minimum of five (5) years leading people, large teams and complex projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage smaller projects or sub-projects independently and plan appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management software.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative to develop potential resolutions to project obstacles.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
