What is an MSA?

MSA stands for Master of Science in Accounting or Master Service Agreement, depending on the context. In the context of jobs, MSA most commonly refers to Master Service Agreement, which is a contract between a service provider and a client that outlines the terms of ongoing services. This agreement streamlines future agreements and negotiations by setting general terms and conditions. MSAs are widely used in industries like IT, consulting, and engineering to manage long-term business relationships efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an MSA?

To thrive as a Medical Support Assistant (MSA), you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in medical office settings preferred. Familiarity with scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic office equipment is typically required. Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills help MSAs effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff. These skills ensure efficient clinic operations, accurate patient records, and a positive patient experience in healthcare environments.

What are some common challenges faced by MSAs when bridging communication between clinical teams and pharmaceutical companies?

MSAs often encounter challenges in translating complex scientific data into practical insights that are meaningful for both clinical teams and pharmaceutical stakeholders. Balancing scientific integrity with business objectives requires strong communication skills and adaptability. Additionally, MSAs must stay updated on the latest research while managing relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), which can be demanding but also rewarding. Successful MSAs thrive in dynamic environments and are proactive in facilitating collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

My Secure Advantage

Job Title: Associate Financial Wellness Specialist

Company: My Secure Advantage (MSA)

Location: Roseville, CA (On-site/Hybrid)

Workplace Type: Hybrid

Job Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Associate

Industry: Financial Services / Wellness and Fitness Services

Salary Range: $58,000 – $72,000/yr

Job Description

What if your next presentation could change someone’s financial life — and you could measure exactly how?

My Secure Advantage (MSA) has spent 25+ years helping people go from financially stressed to financially confident. We partner with employers, retirement advisors, and employee assistance programs across the country to deliver coaching and education that actually moves the needle — for members and the companies that sponsor them.

We’re about 115 people strong, spread across 27 states, headquartered right here in Roseville. We’re small enough that your work is visible and large enough that your impact scales.

The Role

We’re hiring an Associate Financial Wellness Specialist to join our Education team in Roseville, CA. You’ll deliver financial wellness presentations — virtual and in-person — that do more than inform. They activate. Your goal is to move people from curiosity to commitment: scheduling their first coaching session, completing an assessment, or taking a concrete next step.

This is a growth-track position. You’ll start as an Associate with hands-on mentorship and clear benchmarks, with a defined path to our full Financial Wellness Specialist role.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver dynamic financial wellness presentations (virtual and in-person) on topics from budgeting and credit to retirement planning and investments

  • Connect with audiences through storytelling and interactive engagement that drives real next-step action

  • Represent MSA at client events, building trust with sponsors through consistently excellent delivery

  • Track conversion metrics and event feedback to continuously sharpen your approach

  • Collaborate with the Education team to evolve content based on what you’re seeing in the field

  • Stay current on financial wellness trends and share insights with the team

How We Measure Success

We’re transparent about what “good” looks like here. In addition to other team metrics, these are the metrics you’ll own:

  • 15% of event attendees schedule a coaching session within 14 days

  • 20% take a meaningful next step within 7 days

  • Event NPS of 70+ and Speaker NPS of 75+

  • 80% of event hosts rebook within 30 days

Who You Are

  • A compelling presenter who can make retirement planning feel as engaging as a TED Talk

  • Grounded in financial knowledge — budgeting, credit, debt, retirement, investments — enough to be credible without being boring

  • Hungry to grow, coachable, and self-aware about where you’re still developing

  • Someone who genuinely cares about the people in the audience, not just the metrics

What You Bring

Required:

  • 1–3 years presenting, training, or facilitating groups (virtual and in-person)

  • Strong foundational knowledge of personal finance, retirement, or investments

  • Comfort with virtual platforms (Zoom, WebEx, GoToWebinar)

  • Based in or willing to relocate to the greater Sacramento/Roseville area

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Communications, or Education

  • Series 65 license or relevant investment credentials (or willingness to obtain)

  • 5+ years in financial services, retirement planning, or financial education

Compensation

$58,000 – $72,000 base salary depending on experience and credentials, plus a performance bonus of $3,000 – $5,000 tied to your presentation impact metrics. Candidates with a Series 65 or equivalent credentials may qualify for the upper end of the range.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and sick leave, and access to MSA’s own financial coaching benefit.

Working Details

  • Hybrid — Roseville office 3+ days/week

  • Some regional travel for in-person events

  • Occasional early mornings or evenings for client schedules

Why MSA

This isn’t a dead-end associate role. It’s a launchpad. We’ve mapped the trajectory to Financial Wellness Specialist, and we’ll invest in getting you there. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team that celebrates wins (we use Nectar for peer recognition), and your daily work measurably improves real people’s financial lives.

If you’re looking for a role where what you do every day actually matters — where you can see the impact in the data and feel it in the room — we’d love to hear from you.
