Job DescriptionOverview

AtkinsRealis is seeking a Project Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Calgary, Alberta! This role under the project services group involves supporting our project managers and engineering teams to deliver design and support projects to our clients.

The position reports to the Planning and Scheduling Manager, AtkinsRealis Canada, and will be based in Calgary, Alberta.

Your role

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Review project documents and liaise with project teams to identify scope components and requirements.
  • Layout the scope over the work breakdown structure as agreed with project leads and as correlates with the budget structure.
  • Establish project schedules using known industry software to meet project requirements (Primavera P6, MS Project and/or TILOS).
  • Create, arrange, load and assess schedule resources to different schedule levels and adjust/level resources to meet project plans.
  • Identify the critical path and near-critical path using CPM scheduling method and reflect the same along with other schedule assumptions on the basis of the schedule.
  • Conduct review sessions with project teams and clients in order to obtain the team's buy-in and set schedules as baselines.
  • Confer with project and client teams on a regular basis, track time and sequence changes to update the schedule and issue baseline schedule revisions as applicable.
  • Develop schedule reports and participate in producing regular project reports using EVM and other AtkinsRealis standard reporting methods.
  • Examine and validate schedules prepared by other parties against project requirements and industry norms and flag schedule quality issues.
  • Support other project management and project controls functions and perform other duties related to planning and scheduling when required by project teams.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in scheduling within Engineering projects (experience in diverse project types is preferred).
  • Proficiency in scheduling software; MS-Project and Primavera P6.
  • Certification with AACE, PMI or CMAA is preferred.
  • Strong English communication and presentation skills, proficiency in French is an asset.
