Cloud Native Senior Developer - Contract to Hire | Cincinnati, OH (Remote Eligible)
About the Role
Join a high-impact engineering team shaping the future of AI-driven software delivery. As a Cloud Native Senior Developer, you'll lead transformation from within, championing AI-first practices and modern engineering across large-scale, mission-critical projects. Collaborate with passionate technologists, leverage cutting-edge tools, and drive the adoption of next-generation delivery patterns in a supportive, feedback-focused culture.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and deliver robust, scalable cloud-native solutions using Java/Spring Boot, .NET 8+, and VueJS
- Champion AI-augmented development, evaluating and embedding AI coding tools like Github Copilot and Claude Code into workflow and playbooks
- Mentor and pair with developers to introduce XP, TDD, and modern engineering practices
- Troubleshoot and optimize complex distributed systems, utilizing logs, metrics, and streaming data
- Partner with leads to set architectural standards, ensuring alignment between business and technical strategy
- Continuously research, experiment, and roll out emerging development patterns, tools, and frameworks
- Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and open feedback within the team
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years' professional programming experience
- Deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot, .NET 8+, and VueJS
- Proficiency with Git, Github Copilot (CLI), and modern IDEs (IntelliJ, VS Code, Visual Studio)
- Strong experience with relational/NoSQL databases, Redis, RabbitMQ
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to large, polyglot codebases and adapt to shifting priorities
- Familiarity with cloud-native platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry/Tanzu, Azure, Kubernetes)
- Experience driving test-driven development and working in pair programming environments
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a growth-oriented, collaborative mindset
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
