THE ROLE
As a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will be joining a growing team and working closely with all levels of the business to delivery cost estimating and management services to our clients, architects and developers. Applicants should be self-motivated, efficient, and positive to assist in the business' strategic growth plan, which will afford you the opportunities to rapidly grow your career.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertaken and deliver
  • Cost estimates and peer reviews at all stages from SD to CD
  • Cost advice exercises and optional appraisals as required to enable informed decision making to achieve successful projects
  • Procurement advice and strategies tailored to the project conditions, to best meet the client's needs and requirements
  • Bid process including RFP preparation, bid levelling and recommendation, plus providing commentary of contractual documentations
  • Monthly financial cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Change order management, including entitlement review, measurement, negotiations and recommendation as per the contractual documents and the clients' approved process
  • Payment requisitions, soft costs invoices, plus liaising with the client's accounting team
  • Attend and participate in meetings, plus chair meetings as required
  • Final account and financial close out in accordance with the contractual requirements

Other tasks
  • Assist with RFP bid preparation and attend project interviews
  • Collect and provide project benchmarking data
  • Understanding industry trends and developments to facility accurate cost and industry advice to our clients, architects and partners
  • Communicate effective verbally and written to delivery accurate cost advice
  • Demonstrate time management skills to plan manage and delivery tasks in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate a professional manner when representing WT with clients, consultants and contractors to develop a positive and collaborative working relationship
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing
  • Support other team members as required
  • Support other offices, projects and/or services stream in the preparation of cost related or general task as required from time to time
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary

REQUIRED
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant degree
  • A minimum of 4 years' technical experience
  • Pre and post contract experience
  • US citizenship and/or existing/transferable right to work in US
  • Covid vaccination required by existing clients

PREFERRED
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Accreditation (MRICS), or equivalent preferred
  • Experience using cost X, OST, Revit, BIM
