Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
As the Content Consumer Insights team, we work closely with business partners to inspire creative decision-making by providing rich insights into genres, content opportunities, audiences, and evolving content tastes. We strive to understand the underlying needs, motivations, and emotions that drive love for our TV shows and movies so we can help Netflix continue creating stories that excite members around the world.
We are looking for a Senior Researcher to represent consumers and own genre and title-focused research for our original series slate. Title-focused work could include development studies to understand how to adapt IP most effectively or bring a script to life, audience screenings to help optimize a series during production, and marketing studies to understand which of the series' assets are most marketable. This is a high-impact role that will collaborate with other Consumer Insights researchers, partner with high-level executives within Netflix, and interface with external creators.
In this role, you will:
  • Build relationships with key content executives and creators and establish a trusted, consultative partnership
  • Design and execute research programs that inform creative decisions, optimization, and go-to-market strategy
  • Identify and prioritize the highest-impact title research opportunities, especially in early development and screening phases
  • Translate consumer insight into clear, actionable guidance that shapes both creative choices and commercial outcomes
  • Partner with other Consumer Insights researchers and cross-functional teams such as Films, Data Science, Marketing, and Product to maximize the impact and influence of your work

About you:
  • 7+ years of hands-on research experience, ideally at a network/studio/streamer or market research agency
  • Hands-on experience in designing, planning, and executing research projects, including research screenings, positioning/branding studies, marketing studies, owning projects end-to-end
  • Deep fluency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to manage both
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable guidance that resonates with audiences, from creative teams to senior executives
  • A strong collaborator who builds trust within your team and with stakeholders across the organization
  • Comfortable navigating high autonomy and ambiguity, and able to take initiative
  • Strong prioritization skills - you manage both the big picture and your own time effectively

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $250,000.00 - $370,000.00.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here.
Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
