Job description

PLS Logistics Services is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinators to support our transportation brokerage operations. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with Account Executives, customers, and carrier partners to coordinate freight movement across the country. This role is responsible for securing capacity, managing shipments, solving transportation challenges, and ensuring excellent service throughout the shipping process.


This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in transportation, supply chain, sales, and logistics operations within a fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) environment.


โ€ข Booking & scheduling all shipments within the assigned Account Executive / team.

โ€ข Understand metrics that lead to team profitability including call center statistics, revenue

& net revenue, variance to target, variance to max, load counts, etc.

โ€ข Direct communication with the Account Executives and Leadership team.

โ€ข Identify and solve capacity shortfalls within the team.

โ€ข Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of various systems, technology, and

tools to locate and secure various equipment types for customer shipments.

โ€ข Assign carriers to move shipments based on shipment information.

โ€ข Profitability: Choose carriers based on service levels and profitability targets.

โ€ข Negotiate carrier rates (under targets).

โ€ข Ensure all loads are covered that are expected to ship each day.

โ€ข Assist with the training and development of all new logistics coordinators and AETโ€™s

through shadowing, best practice sharing, and technical support

โ€ข Maintain productive working relationships with customer representatives, motor carriers,

and PLS employees

โ€ข Monitor carrier performance and report carrier failures

โ€ข Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

โ€ข Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

โ€ข Ability to work flexible schedule

โ€ข Must exhibit the ability to work in a collaborative team environment

โ€ข Ability to multi-task and understand how to prioritize workload in order of importance.


Minimum Qualifications

โ€ข Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six

months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of

education and experience preferred.
