Job description

Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for an instructor to teach Introduction to Ethics, an undergraduate course that introduces students to philosophy through the examination of core ethical questions.

Course Description:
Introduction to Ethics explores foundational topics in moral philosophy, including:

  • Moral obligation
  • Virtue
  • Justice
  • Law
  • Good and evil

Students will engage with primary philosophical texts, develop critical reasoning skills, and reflect on the nature of the good life.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree (MA or PhD) in Philosophy, or current enrollment in a Philosophy PhD program
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and close engagement with students
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred
