Building the Future of Safe Transmission Work

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated Transmission Training nstructor to train and development skills to ensure our transmission crews work safely.

This role is perfect for an experienced field professional who enjoys mentoring others, improving performance, and driving a strong safety culture. You'll split your time between structured training at our Monroe, GA facility (75%) and hands-on coaching in the field (25%). You will report to the Transmission Training Manager within the Safety Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver hands-on training focused on safe work practices, quality standards, and efficient work methods

  • Work directly with crews to coach, mentor, and develop skills in real time

  • Support onboarding and development of new team members

  • Identify training gaps and implement targeted development plans

  • Reinforce safety compliance and best practices across all job sites

  • Evaluate employee performance and provide clear, actionable feedback

  • Conduct EHS audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards

  • Lead and support transmission construction training, including:

    • Conductor installation and pulling

    • Structure setting and removal

    • Rigging and productivity optimization with safety focus

    • Bare hand work - 44KV and 500KV

  • Apply industry expertise to maintain equipotential zones and safe work conditions

  • Partner with leadership to address performance opportunities and improve outcomes

  • Serve as a key connection between field operations and safety teams

  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.

  • Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in transmission construction

  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and utility safety practices

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or training field employees

  • Ability to assess performance and implement practical solutions

  • Valid Class A CDL

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence teams

  • Comfortable using computers for reporting, documentation, and training materials

  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)

Preferred:

  • OSHA Outreach Trainer certification

  • CSP, CHST, CUSP, CET, or similar safety credentials

You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
