Job description

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor will direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in warehouse duties by following assignments from the Warehouse Manager. This position will be responsible for hiring and training department employees, overseeing the daily workflow and schedules of the department, conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, and handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve daily operational goals.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory control, including tracking incoming and outgoing products, conducting physical counts, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and manage daily warehouse activities, such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods.
  • Oversee the receipt and recording of new inventory as it is delivered, ensuring it is inspected and stored according to policy.
  • Ensure that all stock is stored in the correct location in the warehouse.
  • Ensure the transfer of inventory to trucks/containers for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  • Schedule materials being transferred to and from the warehouse; coordinates the transfer of inventory between departments.
  • Ensure warehouse machinery and equipment are properly maintained and that the facility is kept clean and organized.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and manage shipping documentation and manifests.
  • Work with other departments like procurement and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train, motivate, and manage warehouse staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Enforce operating policies, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
  • Ensure PPE expectations are met/followed daily by all employees.
  • Schedule and assign employees to appropriate tasks to achieve daily department Safety, Quality, and Production goals.
  • Escalates team issues or conflicts when necessary to management and human resources.
  • Covers for Warehouse Manager during absences.
  • Approve hourly payroll for processing, handles disciplinary actions write-ups, and conducts performance evaluations.
  • At least 51% or more time spent managing people activities, attending meetings, processing paperwork, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Work is usually performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Physical demands of the position are sitting, walking, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. at one time.
