POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Supply Chain, reporting directly to the President of MTI, serves as a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, from procurement to delivery, while driving strategic growth and operational excellence.
This position leads the entire supply chain lifecycle, including procurement, production planning, logistics, and inventory management. It develops and executes the long-term supply chain strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring efficiency, cost optimization, risk management, and results. It develops leaders, builds succession, and fosters cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction. This position influences corporate strategy, supports new product launches, and drives innovation in supply chain processes, making it essential for organizational growth and resilience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Strategic Leadership: Own and direct end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement/sourcing, planning, logistics, and inventory/warehouse management
  • Sourcing & Supplier Management: Develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and ensure cost-effective, high-quality supply
  • Demand & Supply Planning: Lead SIOP and demand-supply planning discipline, ensuring alignment with business strategy
  • Logistics Optimization: Command logistics network cost and service, driving efficiency and resilience.
  • Inventory Strategy: Build inventory strategies for turns, availability, and obsolescence reduction
  • Resilience & Risk Management: Implement dual sourcing, risk visibility, and post-disruption recovery programs
  • Digital Transformation: Drive digital supply chain capabilities with measurable results
  • Compliance & Sustainability: Manage trade compliance and sustainability requirements
  • Organizational Development: Build and lead a supply chain organization with strong analytics and decision-making capabilities, emphasizing Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Talent Development and Succession Planning: Recruits talent, develops leaders, builds succession bench, and drives cross-functional collaboration and accountability

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing supply chain management across the US and Mexico, with both government and commercial aviation environments preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP and/or Lean Six Sigma are preferred
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to design and implement enterprise supply strategies, optimize procurement, and manage supplier relationships
  • Manage Ambiguity: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Effective Communication: Ability to translate complex supply chain details into strategic insights and present data-backed proposals. Ability to lead seamless cross-functional collaboration, while maintaining accountability and decisive direction. Strong networking, negotiating, and relationship management skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and supply chain analytics tools to drive data-informed decisions to include the use of AI
  • Operational Excellence: Expertise in demand planning, commodity strategies, supply planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes
  • Strong understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (FAR/DFARS) compliance, aviation industry supply chains, and government property management standards preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel in support of supply chain management and strategic initiatives.
