What is mortgage protection insurance?

Mortgage protection insurance is a type of policy designed to help pay off your mortgage if you pass away or, in some cases, become seriously ill or disabled before the loan is repaid. This insurance ensures that your family or dependents are not left with the burden of mortgage payments, providing financial security during difficult times. It's different from private mortgage insurance (PMI), which protects the lender, whereas mortgage protection insurance primarily benefits the homeowner and their family.
