North Shore Bank is a locally owned and operated community bank that has proudly been serving the Twin Ports area and beyond with integrity for over 100 years. We specialize in providing personalized financial solutions and fostering long-term relationships with our customers. As the area’s largest local residential lender, North Shore Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to support one of our highest producing teams. The North Shore Mortgage department has a first-rate reputation and is excited to grow our team! This position is located onsite in Duluth, MN. Other branch locations and/or remote may be considered for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets bank standards and loan product guidelines, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment
  • Orders, reviews and confirms credit bureau and employment information meet loan program requirements
  • Orders appraisal, title, flood and verifications needed and reviews information to confirm documentation meets program requirements
  • Reviews automated underwriting findings and loan program guidelines to assure file is ready for submission to underwriting
  • Works with Underwriting and Closing to obtain any items to clear conditions prior to closing for a seamless closing transaction for customer
  • Supports Loan Originator with pipeline management
  • Communicates with internal and external contacts throughout the loan process to provide updates and/or request documentation needed to obtain a clear loan approval
  • Performs all pre-closing requirements within regulatory time lines to meet closing dates
  • Mentors other support and processor(s) on the team
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Two year degree or related experience
  • Minimum five years mortgage processing experience and knowledge of FHA, VA, RD and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac products preferred
  • Experience with Encompass360 preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers and the mortgage team in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to multitask and process loans accurately in a fast-paced environment
