Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities

  • The Auto Service Technician is an Experienced Technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs, as assigned

  • Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with the dealership standards

  • Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs

  • Communicates with the Service Advisor to obtain needed parts for the repair 

  • Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended

  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order

Automotive Service Technician Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification desired

  • Current Class D - Regular Driver's License (Auto, Light Truck, Moped) Required with a good driving record

  • 18 years of age or older

  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair

  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies

  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve

  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively

  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
