Senior Bridge Inspector —Knoxville, TN

Hourly Rate Range: $39 - $42/HR plus OT depending on experience and certifications

TTL is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector to join our team in Knoxville, TN. This role will be responsible for supporting bridge and roadway construction inspection, materials sampling, inspection and testing on projects throughout Georgia. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience working on DOT projects and experience managing CEI projects and supervising inspectors.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor, inspect and document daily construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and quality standards
  • Adhere to established inspection procedures, perform accurate calculations and maintain effective working relationships with project teams, clients and contractors 
  • Conduct inspections of grading asphalt paving, concrete placement, utility inspection, subgrade materials and other roadway and bridge construction activities
  • Document findings and contribute to creating detailed inspection reports
  • Review inspection data and reports to ensure accuracy 

 

Requirements 

  • Minimum high school diploma required. 
  • 10+ years of experience providing construction engineering inspection services 
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in AWP
  • Possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment 
  • Possess the ability to lift and/or carry 30+ lbs on varying terrains

 

Required Certifications

  • 10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety
  • TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Technician
  • TDOT Certified Concrete Technician or ACI Grade 1


Preferred Certifications

  • TDOT Asphalt Plant Technician 
  • TDOT Hazardous Materials or APGNA Nuclear Gauge Safety or equivalent*
  • TDOT Soils and Aggregate Technician or equivalent*

*Can be obtained once employed at TTL
