GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia.

Opportunity:

RN - CV ICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Work in a 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit specializing in complex cardiac patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with a free charge nurse; average daily census of 7
• Care for patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
• Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
• Monitor and care for post-AAA repair patients requiring flat positioning for specified hours
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with intensivist and care team at 10:00 AM Monday through Friday
• Intensivist present in the unit Monday through Friday
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac/pericardial tamponade, aortic dissection, STEMI/NSTEMI, decompensated heart failure, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and acute/chronic respiratory failure
• Special equipment includes LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, CRRT machines, and venous/femoral sheaths
• Charting systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise; 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; RTO blackout during Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• 24 orientation hours required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
