Body & Soul Quality Counseling Center in Syracuse, New York, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in a full-time remote position. This role focuses on fostering resilience and recovery in clients grappling with mental health challenges as a result of trauma. This position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work environment that accommodates the needs of both staff and patients. With a standard workweek from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, our counselors utilize telehealth technologies to connect with clients. This setting not only ensures safety and convenience but also fosters a supportive atmosphere conducive to healing.

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations of patients to determine their mental health needs, ensuring an accurate diagnosis of conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other emotional disorders.
• Engage actively with clients through telehealth sessions, providing a safe space to discuss their experiences and develop a trusting therapeutic alliance.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to specific needs and preferences.
• Educate clients about trauma-informed coping strategies, stress management techniques, and self-care practices to promote emotional resilience.
• Track and monitor patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans while maintaining open communication regarding any changes or concerns.
• Coordinate services with social and healthcare providers, including direct communication with community organizations to ensure comprehensive care and resources for patients.
• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain certification as a National Certified Counselor and stay current with therapeutic best practices.

The primary focus of this position is on trauma injury patients who require sensitive and effective mental health care. Our clients may struggle with emotional and psychological challenges stemming from traumatic experiences, necessitating a counselor who is experienced, empathetic, and skilled in evidence-based therapeutic practices. Your expertise will directly impact their quality of life as they work through their recovery processes.

• A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field is required.
• Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• At least three years of experience working with trauma patients or individuals with similar needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to facilitate documentation and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively connect with clients and collaborate with team members.

• Experience using Salesforce and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is highly desirable and seen as a significant advantage in this role.
• A background in trauma-informed care or specialized training in related therapeutic techniques will enhance your candidacy.
