Valley Stream Counseling & Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team in Syracuse, New York. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide quality outpatient mental health services. We operate an outpatient clinic in Syracuse, NY, although this position is primarily remote. Our team works Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured work-life balance. This remote setting promotes flexibility while ensuring that you are supported by an integrated team dedicated to clinical excellence and patient well-being.

• Conduct thorough assessments to understand patients' mental health statuses, developing tailored treatment plans based on individual needs.
• Offer high-quality individual therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
• Engage in regular follow-up meetings with patients to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, providing vital tools and resources for overcoming challenges.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to each patient’s care, aiming for optimal outcomes.
• Facilitate formal training for clinical staff regarding best practices in therapy delivery and patient engagement.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment plans within electronic health record (EHR) systems, adhering to best practices and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to care.

Our clinic serves a diverse population of individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to trauma-related disorders. • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW-R, or LCSW in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in mental health counseling is essential.
• Sound understanding of various mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Proficient in delivering both individual and group therapy utilizing culturally responsive approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed in complex situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven record of building rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
• Commitment to adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality in all patient interactions.
• A collaborative approach to working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Additional certifications in therapeutic techniques or specialties (e.g., CBT, DBT) are a plus.
• Experience in remote counseling or telehealth services will be favored.

• Annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 130,000, with up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
