ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up press-Checking tonnage, cure time, temperature, speed control etc.
- Retrieves preforms/extrusions/inserts for job.
- Cuts/prepares material for molding at the press.
- Loads preforms/extrusions into preheater.
- Loads preforms /extrusions into mold.
- Molds parts requiring a higher skill level
- Operates press according to job specifications.
- Cleans up around press/work area during cure time.
- Unloads parts from mold.
- Inspects parts for flaws.
- Completes all required "trimming at the press".
- Cleans mold and equipment in preparation for next shot.
- Records time and work on Labor Ticket each day.
- Communicates all production/press related information to next shift Press Operator, or shift Supervisor.
- Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with material handling between departments
- Trains level B and C Press Operators
- Moves molding materials from the staging area to the pressline
- Relieves and fill-ins during lunch breaks
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two years related experience
- Conversion of weights and measures
- Comprehension of written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)
- Reading comprehension skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged standing
- Repetitive motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder or neck movement
- Ability to read
- Lifting, pulling and carrying up to/in excess of 50 pounds
- Lifting from floor to waist
- Reaching from shoulder level or below/over the shoulder/while holding objects
- Frequent use of step stools
- Ability to see to distinguish colors, prepare/analyze figures, prepare/review documents and to visually inspect items
- Frequent use of power tools, slicing/cutting equipment, machinery and machinery that produces excessive heat
- Ability to endure a hot work environment
- Occasional walking/bending/twisting/crouching and squatting
- Ability to hear and speak clearly
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to extreme heat for more than an hour
- Bright environment or lighting
