Job description

AIM Environmental LLC is expanding our team and seeking motivated, detailโ€oriented environmental professionals with experience conducting NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) asbestos surveys and inspections. Candidates with additional expertise in lead-based paint and mold assessments are strongly encouraged to apply.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to highโ€visibility public-sector projects while working alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team of environmental specialists.

Position Overview

We are seeking NYC DEPโ€“certified Asbestos Investigators with a minimum of 1.5 years of field experience to support ongoing SCA survey and design contracts. The ideal candidate is organized, technically proficient, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and related documentation
  • Conduct file searches and review historical environmental records
  • Perform on-site hazardous building material surveys in accordance with SCA protocols
  • Collect bulk samples of suspect materials
  • Document field observations and compile findings into comprehensive, SCAโ€compliant reports
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure timely and accurate deliverables

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Required

  • NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator Certification
  • NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector Certification
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience conducting NYC SCA hazardous building material surveys
  • USEPA Lead-Based Paint Inspector/Risk Assessor certification
  • NYSDOL Mold Assessor license
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting software
  • AS or BS in industrial hygiene, environmental science, or related science/engineering fields
