Set the Stage for Success - Join Vision Plastics as a Mold Setter!

Vision Plastics is the Northwest's leader in custom injection molding, and we're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Mold Setter to help fuel our production team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for setting up molds, preparing machines, and ensuring equipment and processes run safely and efficiently. SUMMARY

Assists with and performs set-ups and minor adjustments to Injection Molding machines and auxiliary equipment as directed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Set-up tooling in machines. Ensures workstations have proper ergonomics and are safe, tidy and organized.

2. Enter molding parameters into press properly. Adjust for proper barrel temperature settings.

3. Check for proper material and dryer temperature & times. Verify dryer and all loading equipment is contamination free.

4. Provide any auxiliary equipment (drill presses, cooling fixtures, milling fixtures, arbor presses, etc.).

5. Attach end of arm tooling. Make adjustments to robot to properly remove part from press.

6. Assists with staging tools for Production. Remove tool when job is completed and follow tool removal procedures. Return tool to proper location.

7. Complete required documentation. Maintain accurate documentation of process parameters during entire shift.

8. Perform preventative maintenance on molds.

9. Clean and perform preventive maintenance on assigned presses.

10. Keep technician area, carts, and auxiliary equipment clean and organized.

11. Make suggestions on how to improve processes.

12. Communicate with appropriate staff and incoming/outgoing technicians regarding production information and/or issues.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

1. Keep areas clean and neat for next shift.

2. Serve as back up Machine Operator, Material Handler, and Tool Stagger, as assigned.

3. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. ย Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.
  2. Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  3. Must be able to lift, reach and pull 25 lbs. frequently and 55 lbs. occasionally.
  4. Must be able to stand for long (at least 10) hours per day.
  5. Must have the ability to learn required information and continuously develop skills in a changing work environment.
  6. Basic knowledge of material drying, blending and mixing requirements, preferred.
  7. Must have basic mechanical aptitude.
  8. Must be able to communicate effectively and problem solve.
  9. Must be able to attain forklift, pallet jack, crane and other required certifications.
  10. Must successfully complete Machine Operator, Material Handler, Tool Stager, LOTO, and Mold Setter Certifications within 5 months of hire or job title assignment date.
