Job description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES  (2nd shift) 

The basic function of the Mold Setter is to apply set up techniques to achieve acceptable molded product while maintaining machines and molds. The Mold Setter is to attend to assigned duties and responsibilities and maintain accuracy standards in production in accordance with stated requirements and IATF standards.

RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES

  • Retrieve and set molds
  • Set-up molds, set-up tooling
  • Verify quality of product at start of production (1st Piece Inspection)
  • Train and assist set-up preps, as required
  • Perform in-process mold cleanings, as scheduled
  • Log information in Mattec
  • Set process parameters in presses during changeovers
  • Tag last shot
  • Clean grinders and hoppers daily; unclog grinders using proper lockout procedures
  • Clean equipment filters at presses as production demands
  • Perform color and material changes at production presses as directed by Set-Up Coordinator; properly loading, unloading, and identifying materials used
  • Learn and complete proper mold and equipment storage
  • Perform startup, shutdown, and restart procedures on presses following proper procedures
  • Maintain machinery to insure a safe and productive workplace (i.e. vacuum hoses, grinder blades, circulators, dryers, and mold heaters)
  • Learn and maintain Motan Alarm system; 1st responder for alarms; maintain housekeeping in Motan area
  • Learn to respond to press alarms
  • Follow established safety practices and policies with zero safety violations
  • Support and maintain 5S housekeeping standards
