Job description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our operational and field personnel as a Junior Home Inspector Technician. You will work alongside our experienced team members to assist in providing  detailed, actionable inspection reports. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to learn about the home and commercial inspection process.


Responsibilities:


  • On-site assistance: Support the Inspector during inspections by carrying equipment, taking photos, and helping with basic measurements.


  • Documentation: Assist with gathering information and organizing notes to prepare for post-inspection reports.


  • Physical tasks: Be able to lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs, climb ladders, and navigate various environments, including high humidity attics and crawl spaces.


  • Equipment management: Help maintain and organize inspection tools and equipment to ensure they are ready for each job.


  • Client interaction: Interact professionally and courteously with clients, builders, property managers, and real estate agents on-site.


Requirements:


  • Physical capability: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift heavy equipment (up to 60 lbs), and work in diverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.


  • Availability: Must be flexible and available to work with a 24-hour notice from Tuesday through Saturday, anytime between 8 AM to 6 PM.


  • Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel throughout Houston and its surrounding areas. Depending on where you live, travel time could be around an hour or so to the job sites per day.


  • Gas and travel: The technician is responsible for covering their own gas and travel expenses.


  • Experience: A background in construction, trades, mold inspection, termite inspections or any related housing sector is strongly preferred but not required.


  • Leg Up: Higher pay is given to those who are currently licensed to perform mold and or termite inspections, or those who are currently taking courses to become a licensed home inspector.


  • Communication: Excellent communication and a professional demeanor are a must.


  • Willingness to Learn: In addition to having an interest in being a licensed home inspector, if you are licensed in mold or termite inspections and or willing to learn other types of inspections (such as foundation, or solar energy assessments), you may be eligible to earn a commission in addition to your hourly rate.


  • Reliability: We need someone who is punctual and reliable.
