Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner by getting along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, and all other employees.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all quality system procedures and requirements related to the position.
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
  • Attendance/punctuality is consistently at work and on time.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of mold and tool making.
  • Has responsibility for completing all quality checks and paperwork associated with job tasks.
  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair faulty or damaged tooling.
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine tool specifications and tolerances.
  • Keep presses operational.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on molds.
  • Restore damaged surfaces and re-machines to specifications.
  • Reassemble, test, and adjust tooling.
  • Perform slide changes.
  • Check water flow on higher volume tooling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (continued)


  • Perform other repairs, corrections, and engineering changes to molds as requested by Production Tooling Manager.
  • Teach and guide apprentices through all facets of mold making.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

Four to ten years related experience and/or training with Journeyman or Master craftsman certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to learn new software as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
