Job description

Mold Technician 1:

  • Performs daily tool set-ups and tear downs including essential paperwork
  • Logs all tool maintenance in ERP systems
  • Communicates with Manufacturing Engineer on all tool damage and wear
  • Mold cleaning and inspection
  • Inspection of general mold or fixture function upon return from Production (bolts tight, dowels in place, springs functioning properly, etc.)
  • Keep tooling and fixture inventory up-to-date
  • Move tools not used for two years to archive area and adjust location in ERP system

Mold Technician 2:

  • Replacement pin inventory upkeep
  • Logs all new molds into the ERP system
  • Cold-Deck maintenance

Mold Technician 3:

  • Works with New Tooling Group for training on all new complex molds
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers entering set-up lists for new molds into ERP system
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers to write up in depth preventative maintenance instructions on the more complex molds as determined by the Manufacturing Engineers and/or Supervisor.

Set-Up Technician:

  • Perform equipment setup and assist with troubleshooting of injection molding machines and ancillary Equipment.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues as appropriate.
  • Continually suggest and implement ideas to improve setup efficiency, as well as safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
Education:
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2-5 Years of Molding, Set-Up, or related experience with maintenance activities.

Desired:

  • 5-10 Years of Molding, Set-Up or Tooling/Maintenance experience
  • Technical college degree
  • Experience with clean room medical device manufacturing
