Job Description
Analog Modules, Inc. (AMI), located in Longwood, Florida, is a research, development and production company working at the frontier of analog, high frequency and electro-optic design. Analog Modules is a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, (NYSE: HEI, HEI.A), a successful and growing technology-driven aerospace, defense and electronics company.
Analog Modules, Inc. is recruiting for a Drafting Designer specializing in electronics with packaging experience. This is an on-site position and cannot be performed remotely.
The Drafting Designer prepares complete and accurate detailed drawings, 3D models, and PCB layouts for products used in the electro-optics and laser industry. Products cover a broad range of controls, analog, digital, power supplies, and high voltage circuitry.
The Drafting Designer performs the following tasks.
  • Creates new PCB layouts, working with Electrical Engineers, primarily utilizing Altium Software.
  • Actively participates in design reviews with Product Engineer by notifying him/her of potential assembly/drafting issues.
  • Maintains product documentation from initial release through on-going production using internal Engineering Change Order processes.
  • Assists assembly, test and quality control teams with required documentation.
  • Uses customer specifications and internal "best practices" to design and analyze mechanical packaging using SolidWorks 3D Modeling Tools.
  • Collaborates with Product Engineers during development activities to maximize packaging efficiencies.
  • Maintains product documentation from initial release through on-going production using internal Engineering Change Order processes.
  • Supports the Manufacturing team when problem resolution and documentation updates are necessary.
  • Reports schedule and technical status on a regular basis and participate in program reviews internally and with the customers; be able to manage multiple projects.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Drafting or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience responsible for design, analysis, and development of PCB/mechanical enclosures of production products (military and/or medical electronics is required).
  • Utilizes Altium to create schematics and PC board layout documentation.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant design experience using SolidWorks 3D Modeling Tool. Designing for electronics manufacturing is necessary.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD to create and maintain fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Knowledge of MIL STD is a plus.
  • Must be well organized and be able to develop vendor and internal customer relationships.
  • Experience in product development in commercial or defense and design-to-cost environment is necessary.

Work Schedule
Analog Modules' Team Members work a 9/80 schedule, which means our workweek splits on Friday. Full-time Team Members work 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday and 8 hours on Friday one week of our pay period and the following week they work 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday and have that Friday off. This allows Team Members to enjoy a three-day weekend twice a month.
