This position is a remote position. However, depending on the candidate's location this may be a hybrid position and will require a minimum of 2 days in office. Hybrid locations include: Boston MA, Portsmouth NH, Seattle WA, Columbus OH, Plano TX.
Summary
The Global Learning and Development (GLD) Claims Learning Center (CLC) team is seeking an Sr. Instructional Design Specialist to collaborate and support learning for its Global Risk Solutions (GRS) claims organization.
In this role, you will design and develop learning goals, learning objectives and modules using a skills based learning model. You will partner with our Portfolio Managers aligned to our claims business segments and will work collaboratively with a variety of subject matter experts to design learning curricula and programs, considered complex in nature. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the GLD CLC team and see the impact your work can have on business performance.
Responsibilities
  • Conducts in-depth job-task analysis identifying skills needed and/or needs assessment to identify learning objectives and to determine learning solutions and other performance enhancement solutions (e.g., management reinforcement, rewards, role clarity, performance support tools etc.).
  • Consults with CLC Portfolio Managers and various team members to develop learning curricula and to identify individual learning program goals learning, objectives and modules using a skills based learning model.
  • Develops learning journeys and contributes to the learning strategies to support the development of employee performance.
  • Applies knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content collaborating with subject matter experts, management, trainers, etc.
  • Creates new learning experiences from scratch and/or updates existing learning material. This role will work independently with alignment and collaboration of the Portfolio Managers learning strategy.
  • Applies knowledge of adult learning theory to identify appropriate learning media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location, point within the learning process, etc. Designs for traditional classroom, online virtual classroom, self-paced e-Learning modules, or a blend of approaches. Learning methodologies may include leader led group learning experiences, role play, simulation exercises, self-study, on-the-job learning, computer-based learning, etc.
  • Designs and develops e-Learning programs and applications considered complex in nature. This may also include designing and developing MS Team sites, SharePoint, and HTML pages to support the learning audience.
  • Collaborates in designing evaluation strategies and tools to measure program effectiveness and to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved.
  • Assists in developing measurement and evaluation strategies as well as valid criterion-referenced tests or assessments.
  • Integrates Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, into the design process to gain efficiencies in content creation; actively contributes to the development and implementation of Generative AI strategy, including creating roadmaps and use cases.
  • Manages time effectively across multiple concurrent projects and fully participates in project planning and administration using agreed on tools and processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, in addition to 7+ years of learning design experience that includes leading learning program design efforts; Master's degree in Instructional Design or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience includes working with complex content and designing learning for multiple delivery modalities (traditional classroom, online virtual classroom, and self-paced e-Learning modules).
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and can write for a variety of audiences (e.g., leadership, managers, employees).
  • Demonstrates excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Broad knowledge of instructional technologies and is thoroughly proficient in the advanced use of e-Learning authoring tools to create courses, video, animation, graphics, and narration.
