Modelling Simulation and Data Analyst roles share overlapping skills in data handling and analytical thinking. However, Modelling Simulation focuses on creating and testing models to predict system behavior, often in engineering contexts. Data Analysts interpret data to inform business decisions. Both roles require strong technical skills, but their applications and industries differ significantly.

Job description

Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.

As an ESOP company, our employee-owners are personally invested in the success of our customers, our programs, and one another. Our primary focus at MSRC is to provide extraordinary talent to propel the Warfighter, and we seek to hire people who are Elevated (always do the right thing), Exceptional (the very best at what they do), and Enduring (self-disciplined; self-motivated).

MSRC is seeking a candidate to support modeling and simulation efforts for the development of missile systems to aid the Army (DEVCOM AvMC) with critical technology development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide simulation analysis and engineering support for missile focused science and technology programs and trade studies.
  • Integrate and enhance existing simulation and optimization codes.
  • Create technical documentation and present findings to government customers regularly through regular reviews and technical reports.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop analysis tools and perform system analysis.
  • Perform verification and validation activities.
  • Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements.
  • Must possess the capability to rollover existing simulation to other coding languages for verification and validation.
  • Must have experience with missile system simulations and data analysis.

Education:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer science, or other relevant engineering field.

Job Qualifications:

  • Entry to Mid-Level candidates with minimum 0-8 years of experience are preferred.
  • Experience with C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab, Python, and Linux is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with physics-based modelling of missile systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of missile 6DOF simulations, pre/post flight test performance assessments, and simulation verification, validation, and accreditation is also desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidate must currently possess or be able to obtain an active security clearance.

MSRC’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) practices are grounded in federal laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), among others. These laws prohibit discrimination in employment based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, and other protected characteristics. They also prohibit preferential treatment based on any such trait. These protections apply across all aspects of employment, including hiring, promotion, training, and termination.
