Job Summary:
Amentum is a leader in space exploration, and they are seeking a motivated Simulation Developer to support the development of physics-based simulation software for the Space Launch System. The role involves designing, developing, and testing models for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software, working collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, development, and test models for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software.
• Participate in a software development environment.
• Create and present detailed software designs.
• Conduct and participate in design and code reviews.
• Produce weekly and monthly status reports of progress in assigned areas.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in software development in C/C++.
• Proficiency in software development in Python.
• Simulation development using Matlab/Simulink.
• Design, development, and test of models and simulations for hardware-in-the-loop testing of avionics and flight software.
• Time-domain 6-DOF vehicle simulation experience
• Software development targeted for real-time operating systems and environments.
• Modeling and simulating space vehicle subsystems.
• Developing of software targeted for Linux distribution, especially RedHat Enterprise Linux or derivatives distributions.
• Proficiency working with Unix/Linux (unix-like OS structure, file system, shell, secure shell)
• Exposure to software development tools such as Git.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, stakeholders, and cross-organizational teams.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred:
• Previous experience with the ARTEMIS simulation environment is desirable.
• Modeling using numerical methods and analysis (desirable)
