Job description

We are seeking a Simulation Engineer to support ground software simulation development for the Orion MPCV Artemis program. This role will be with our Lockheed Martin customer. This role covers simulation software engineering, production, test, and sustainment across Artemis 3 and Artemis 4 missions, including Docked Operations support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simulation ground software systems engineering, design, production, and test for Artemis docking and docked operations
  • Develop and execute unit/functional testing using Agile methodologies
  • Support simulation model development including Orion dynamics, ECLSS, and HLA Federate integration
  • Perform HLS interface, telemetry, and lab integration support (including SpaceX emulator in the ITL)
  • Perform defect investigation and resolution for Artemis 3 and Artemis 4 sustainment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant software/simulation engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with C++ and Python
  • Experience with real-time 6 DoF simulation
  • Strong debugging skills and best practices in large-scale systems
  • Extensive experience with Linux development environment
  • Experience with Perforce
  • Background in aerospace engineering concepts (fluid mechanics, orbital dynamics, etc.)
  • Ability to report full time in person to a Lockheed Martin facility in either Houston, TX or Denver, CO

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Familiarity with Orion program or OrionSim capabilities
