Job description

FTS International, LLC (FTS) is committed to providing the Federal Government with quality consultants and support. To ensure mission success we focus on putting our customers first while minimizing corporate bureaucracy on our staff. We provide Subject Matter Experts (SME) free of Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) focused on independent analysis and mission support services within the disciplines of Engineering, Counter Terrorism Operations, Management, Information Technology, Signals Analysis, Administration, Cyber Security and Linguistics. FTS has as opportunity for a Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer in Chantilly, VA. The Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer will work in a collaborative teaming and peer review environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain. Responsibilities * Perform orbital mechanics modeling & simulation (M&S) (Mod/Sim) including orbit determination, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft flight dynamics
* Perform link budget, latency, and throughput analyses for RF and optical space-based relay and space-to-ground telecommunications
* Perform assessments of satellite payload sensor phenomenology (optics/radar/RF) and product quality
* Assess end-to-end system designs against Required Performance Parameters and identify required Technical Performance Measures.
* Create MS&A supporting documentation to include terms of reference, study plans, modeling assumptions, data input/output, analytic results, visualizations, and conclusions.
* Advise the government and contractor teams of forward-looking and follow-on studies, analyses to incorporate into a roadmap of future analytic planning Required Skills/Qualifications * TS/SCI with polygraph
* B.S. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) in engineering discipline
* 2+ years of relevant experience
* Experience using one or more of the following: C++, Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK
* Engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) experience
* Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers Desired Skills/Qualifications * Experience with free space optical and optical space-to-ground systems
* Experience integrating MS&A and MBSE data sets using SysML
* Experience developing and maintaining MBSE models
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
