Turner & Townsend is seeking a risk analyst with a background in life sciences facilities projects to join our team to support project management function on a large-scale project. The ideal individual will have a proven track record of successfully delivering construction project control services.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendย seeks aย Risk Management Leadย to join our team to lead risk management services for key client accounts and support the growth of risk management services for our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points toย facilitateย risk cost profiling,ย timelyย drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.ย 
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning. ย 
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining risk budget.ย 
  • Work with contractors to assessย contractorย held risks and their views on client held risks thatย impactย upon them. ย 
  • Produce risk reports as required,ย in a timely manner, to support the effective communication ofย threatย & opportunityย status. ย 
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.ย 
  • Ensure thedelivery ofbest practice risk management activities and report to the Head of Department.ย 
  • Initiate a proactive approach to the review,ย developmentย and improvement of the risk management service to the client.ย 
  • Undertake end-to-end project risk managementย practiceย on multiple projects/programs.ย 
  • Undertake the creation of risk management plans and processes in adherence to client requirements, processes,ย policiesย and frameworks.ย 
  • Lead workshops with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. ย 
  • Conduct risk reviews at regular intervals,ย identifyย and analyze,ย determineย response plans, ensure that project and program risk profiles are beingย monitoredย and reported.ย 
  • Lead and run a comprehensive schedule and cost qualitative risk assessment (QCRA & QSRA) process is delivered.ย 
  • Establishintegration of the risk management function within the program and project controls team, with direct touch points to cost and schedule management, changeย control,ย and reporting.ย 
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with program and project control teamsย so as toย eliminate redundancies and identify opportunities for improvement.ย 
  • Provide opportunities toย facilitateย the transfer of knowledge within the immediate risk team, to the greater project controls team and to the client.ย 
  • The transfer of knowledge may includeย informal one-one-one discussions with client stakeholders and more formal presentations to clients and colleagues.ย 
  • Create value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop solutionsto minimize waste (both in terms of speed and cost).ย 
  • Create improved operating procedures and best practices for wider use in the client organization to reduce turnaround times,ย amendmentsย and queries.ย 
  • Aligns recommendations to the respective needs of each project, delivery type, contractย modelsย and phase of contract negotiation.ย 
  • Collaborate on the supplier performance management program including the collection of performance metrics and tracking of supplier improvement action plans.ย 
  • Demonstrate a level of support to expert witnesses in arbitral or ligation processes.ย 
  • Lead, manage, and carryout construction stage contract and claims management.ย 
  • Provide strategic,ย criticalย and professional advice on contractual issues.ย 
  • Carry out assessment of contractual claimsย in accordance withย the contract.ย 
  • Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes and related resolution issues.ย 
  • Evaluate delay recovery measures.ย 
  • Carry out change management and construction stage cost control.ย 
  • Supervise the measurement and valuation of completed works and variations.ย 
  • Manage the settlement of final accounts with contractors.ย 
  • Perform all other pertinent contract management and administration tasks with a view to achieving project completion on time and within budget.ย 
  • Prepare andย support bidย proposals andย work closely alongside Senior Management and the wider Turner & Townsend team.ย 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,ย engineeringย or field related to construction.ย 
  • Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering is preferred.ย 
  • 10+ years of relevantย risk managementย orย risk programย controlsย experience.ย 
  • 2+ years managing high performingย risk management services and teamsย in a consulting environment.ย 
  • Deep knowledge and experience with risk identification facilitation and techniques.ย 
  • Strong communication,ย analyticalย and negotiation skills.ย 
  • Has conducted risk management training sessions.ย 
  • In-depth understanding of construction contracts,ย commercialsย models and delivery methods.ย 
  • Proficient in process mapping, root causes analysis, problem solving, and value-stream mapping.ย 
  • Familiarity with web-based database tools - ARM, Predict, Tableau. ย 
  • Highly self-motivated, analytical, and customer centric.ย 
  • Excellent interpersonalย skills,ย includingย great communication.ย 
  • Ability toย demonstrateย collaborative behaviors.ย 
  • Organized and thoroughย individuals.ย 
  • Experience in the formulation, setting up,ย procurementย and contract administration of target cost contracts will be an added advantage.ย 
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written,ย organizationalย and communicationย skills.ย
