Job description

Overview
The BIM Administrator / Model Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group's quickly growing Philadelphia area team out of Conshohocken, PA. The office is executing cutting-edge projects for Pharmaceutical, Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy, manufacturing facilities - from feasibility through to qualification - for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.
We are looking for a BIM Administrator / Model Manager who enjoys the technical aspects of the position. Expect project work to include all levels of design: feasibility studies, conceptual & schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction. This individual will provide BIM support, project setup, maintenance and federation for users/projects. In summary, the role is to provide support in a live projects environment, with multiple disciplines, across multiple locations.

Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in the following activities:
  • Prepare and maintain the BIM Execution Plan: BIM Project set-up and support/admin for multi discipline projects across multiple application platforms. (AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks etc.) across multiple offices
  • Create outputs from discipline models of assigned project(s) (drawings, schedules, renders, etc.)
  • Set up the template drawings and models accurately and structure them so they are suitable for the final issue
  • Discuss coordination issues with designers and engineers and resolve them as instructed
  • Able to undertake tasks arising from Clash Management activities such as assigning clashes, supporting 3D coordination meetings, reporting clash detection, etc.
  • Experience with piping software packages such as Plant 3D
  • Assess tasks arising from the Model federation
  • Assist in the set-up of the BIM project environment
  • Effective time management and execution of output within defined timelines and budgetary constraints.

Production
  • Manage, control and assure on-time delivery of drawings and models
  • Develop Discipline Models in line with company and client requirements
  • Assist in the transition of historic files from 2D to 3D models.
  • Assist in the migration of files to BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud Design/Documents
  • Ensure the self-work within the department is carried out accurately and with due diligence; plan and organize self-work
  • Checks data inputs from other parties (sub-consultant, sub-contractors and/or our own team) and resolve difficulties with data providers

Quality Assurance
  • Comply with both in-house and client Design Procedures
  • Comply with client security protocols
  • Assist in the audit of submitted files from the team and/or other vendors/owners
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to company EHS, QA/QC policies and systems
  • Remain flexible and adopt the appropriate model and drawing standards and protocols to suit project requirements

Communication
  • Contribute to BIM Coordination Meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with the team to bring clarity to the scope of deliverables as needed
  • Ensure effective, professional and appropriate communication at all times with design engineers and BIM team
  • Communicate and collaborate with the full multi-disciplinary BIM design team and others

Other
  • Assist with the internal training of all employees as needed
  • Support the onboarding of project participants regarding BIM
  • Assist in the implementation of 3D tools and the introduction of new technologies
  • Ensure continual improvement of an integrated management system, looking at new and future technologies
  • Support the written technology evaluations for future technology adoption that aligns with the project goals
  • Provide PM Group's BIM Manager with weekly updates to keep aligned with the project schedule
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' of administration and setup experience working with Revit (Revit experience is required)
  • Proficient experience working with AutoCAD, BIM360/ACC and NavisWorks
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience with P&IDs, piping, applications (CADWorx, and Plant 3D)
  • Experience leading BIM and 3D coordination in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage time successfully to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines
  • Is a self-starter who pursues continued professional development related to BIM software and processes
  • Has the ability to assist with the training of others
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Dynamo experience is desirable
  • Experience working with other BIM software's is desirable
