Opportunity

PeopleTec is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to support the development of Next Generation Missile Defense system-level requirements. This role will support the definition, analysis, and management of requirements across the system life cycle, from concept development through testing and deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow technical skills in systems engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and missile defense architecture support.

Duties:

  • Support the development, documentation, and management of system-level requirements across MDA and external programs.
  • Assist with requirements traceability activities throughout the system life cycle.
  • Apply MBSE methodologies using CAMEO Systems Modeler to help create, update, and maintain system architecture models.
  • Model and document system components, behaviors, and interfaces in support of the Next Generation Missile Defense architecture.
  • Support the capture, analysis, and validation of functional and performance requirements.
  • Assist with trade studies and analyses related to system performance, scalability, and integration impacts.
  • Help maintain traceability from mission objectives through testing and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, and external partners to support system alignment with mission objectives and defense priorities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and engineering artifacts to support program efforts.
QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience:
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, MBSE, or a related technical field.
  • Academic or internship experience with systems engineering principles, requirements analysis, or architecture modeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with MBSE concepts, SysML, and/or CAMEO Systems Modeler is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering life cycle processes, including requirements development and verification/validation.
  • Ability to support translation of high-level mission objectives into technical requirements with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative, fast-paced defense environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire and the ability to maintain the required level of clearance during employment.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field required.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
