Current Opening - Certified Peer Support Specialist
  • Contingent - Prefer candidate that is open to weekends. Shifts are as follows: 8am - 4pm or 3pm - 11pm.

Compensation
  • $21.00 - $24.00 plus shift differential.

About You
Individual must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS). This position involves mobile outreach and intervention to individuals in distress, aiming to offer peer support, guidance, and assistance during their crisis moments. Promote recovery, reduce the risk of hospitalization or institutionalization, and connect individuals with appropriate mental health resources and services. Day in the Life
  • Respond swiftly to crisis calls to align with program response times
  • Perform curb-side staff safety assessments in order to assess team response requirements
  • Drive agency vehicle (or personal vehicle) to community locations to respond to crisis call
  • Maintain reliable personal vehicle for use to and from job and occasionally within the community
  • Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting in distress
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all crisis interventions and interactions with clients
  • Collaborate with individuals/families and their support systems to develop safety plans and identify coping strategies for managing future crises
  • Facilitate transition to appropriate aftercare services and assist with implementation of individual recovery plans and coordination of natural supports
  • Act as a role model in recovery and the development of coping skills

What you need to apply
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist certification
  • Relevant recovery experience
  • Valid Michigan Driver License with acceptable driving record regarding eligibility for insurability under Common Ground's insurance policy
