Job Title: 2nd Shift Laser Operator
Company: MLC Manufacturing
Location: Spring Lake, MI 49456
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
Status: Full-Time | Hiring Immediately

About Us:
MLC Manufacturing is a growing sheet metal fabrication company in West Michigan specializing in precision laser cutting and metal processing. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a 2nd Shift Laser Operator.
Position Summary:

The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:

  •  Operate Bystronic fiber laser cutting machines, including systems with auto loaders 
  •  Load and unload raw sheet metal materials 
  •  Monitor machine performance to ensure optimal cutting quality and efficiency 
  •  Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain cut quality (speed, focus, gas, etc.) 
  •  Inspect finished parts for accuracy, burrs, and defects 
  •  Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on laser equipment 
  •  Remove cut parts from sheets and assist with breakout as needed 
  •  Sort, stack, and label finished parts according to job requirements 
  •  Manage scrap material and keep work area clean and organized 
  •  Work collaboratively with other operators to keep machines running efficiently 
  •  Follow all safety procedures and company policies 
Qualifications:

  •  Prior experience operating laser cutting equipment (Bystronic experience preferred) 
  •  Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills 
  •  Ability to read work orders and part drawings 
  •  Strong attention to detail and quality 
  •  Good attendance and reliability are a must 
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  •  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
