Overview
Keep station and mobile machines and equipment running efficiently for maximum production.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on stationary and mobile equipment malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • React to emergency breakdowns.
  • Perform needed facility repairs.
  • Assist with installation of utilities and equipment.
  • Comply with all safety requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in comprehending schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints, welding, and fabricating skills.
  • Must be able to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Extensive experience in three phase and single phase electrical repairs.
  • Must be able to perform advanced electrical repairs.
  • Must be able to arc weld with stick and mig abilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs without direct supervision.
  • Must have working understanding of programmable logistic controllers.

We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. The company ships over 5 million gross tons of recycled steel and 1 billion pounds of nonferrous and stainless-steel scrap annually. Our primary collection and processing facilities are concentrated in the Midwest, the South, and the Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. We expect to continue to expand OmniSource’s footprint, deploying our processing assets to cover new geographical territories, opening new facilities, and making targeted acquisitions. Supplementing our company-operated scrap collection sites, we also acquire metals from industrial scrap generators with which we have established strategic partnerships.
