Job description

The Role We Need:

PadSplit is looking for a React Native Mobile Engineer to help build and evolve the mobile experience that thousands of members and hosts rely on every day. As our mobile platform continues to grow, we need an engineer who can improve reliability, ship high-quality features quickly, and contribute across both our mobile applications and React web experience.

The Person We Are Looking For:

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys building products that people use every day and thrives in a dynamic startup environment. You are equally comfortable owning features independently, collaborating across disciplines, and jumping between mobile and web development when business priorities require it.

Here's What You'll Do Day-To-Day:
  • Build Mobile Apps: Develop, maintain, and improve our React Native applications across both iOS and Android.
  • Support Web Development: Build and enhance React.js features when product priorities require additional frontend support.
  • Ship Product Features: Partner with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to bring new customer experiences to life.
  • Improve Performance: Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance across platforms.
  • Maintain Quality: Write clean, maintainable code while participating in thoughtful code reviews.
  • Expand Testing: Build and maintain automated tests that improve confidence and reduce regressions.
  • Drive Engineering: Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and architectural decisions that shape our roadmap.
  • Solve Problems: Take ownership of technical challenges, balancing speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
Here's What You'll Need To Be Successful:
  • React Native Expertise: Significant experience building and shipping production React Native applications for both iOS and Android.
  • React Proficiency: Strong experience developing modern React.js applications using current frontend best practices.
  • API Integration: Experience consuming REST APIs and collaborating effectively with backend engineering teams.
  • Backend Familiarity: Working knowledge of Django/Python environments and how frontend applications interact with backend systems.
  • Database Understanding: Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Testing Experience: Experience implementing automated testing strategies for React Native and React applications.
  • Git Workflows: Comfortable working in collaborative Git-based development environments with pull requests and code reviews.
  • Startup Mindset: Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality work with minimal direction.
The Interview Process:
  • Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by the Hiring Manager.
  • If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a video screen with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.
  • If warranted, the next step would be a video technical interview with our CTO at PadSplit for one (1) hour.
  • If warranted, the next step would be a panel video technical interview with our Mobile Engineers for ninety (90) minutes.
  • If warranted, then we move to offer!
$50,000 - $75,000 a year
Compensation is based on the role's scope, market benchmarks, the person's expertise and experience, and the impact of their contributions to our business goals.
