ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Mobile Mechanic to support operations at the Millville Quarry located in Millville, WV. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy mobile equipment used to extract, transport, and move aggregate materials.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy mobile equipment, including haul trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and other quarry equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel engine issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in the field to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspensions, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and electrical systems.
  • Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication to repair or modify equipment as needed.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and equipment inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Inspect equipment daily to identify wear, damage, or potential failures and recommend corrective actions before breakdowns occur.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and manufacturer maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with operations personnel and supervisors to prioritize repairs and ensure equipment availability for production.
  • Assist with parts inventory management by identifying needed replacement parts, maintaining service truck inventory, and communicating material needs to the maintenance team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Field of Study Prefered: Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related mechanical field.
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction, mining, quarry, or aggregate equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, powertrain components, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing haul trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and other heavy mobile equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and hydraulic or electrical diagrams.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate and move heavy equipment safely; CDL is a plus.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or respond to emergency equipment breakdowns as business needs require.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with the ability to complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
