Job Summary:
Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Mobile Architect to define and own the end-to-end mobile architecture for iOS and Android applications. The role involves driving the adoption of modern UI frameworks, designing scalable architectures, and ensuring cross-platform consistency while mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Define and own end-to-end mobile architecture for iOS (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Compose)
• Drive adoption of modern UI frameworks (SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose) and native best practices
• Design and implement modular, scalable architectures (feature modules, plugin/super app models)
• Lead development of advanced device capabilities (BLE, UWB, NFC, sensors, gestures)
• Ensure cross-platform consistency for hardware-driven and OS-specific features
• Establish shared SDKs/frameworks (networking, auth, design system components)
• Define performance benchmarks and optimize startup time, rendering, and memory usage
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance
• Implement and enforce security standards (biometrics, encryption, secure storage, device binding)
• Collaborate with backend teams on API contracts, integrations, and data strategies
• Enable offline-first capabilities with sync and caching strategies
• Drive CI/CD automation, release management, and DevOps best practices
• Integrate analytics, monitoring, and crash reporting tools
• Mentor teams and provide technical leadership across squads
• Engage with stakeholders for solutioning, estimations, and RFP contributions
• Evaluate and onboard emerging technologies (KMP, AI, edge computing, etc.)
Qualifications:
Required:
• SwiftUI (mandatory), UIKit interoperability, Combine / Async-Await concurrency
• Kotlin (latest), Jetpack Compose (mandatory), Coroutines, Flow, LiveData
• Advanced OS & Device Capabilities like Gesture Systems, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), UWB (Ultra Wide Band), NFC, Sensors & Hardware APIs, Location & Geo Services
• Architecture & Design: Any of Clean Architecture / Hexagonal Architecture, MVVM, MVI (Compose/SwiftUI aligned), Modularization (feature-based, layer-based), Super App / Mini App / Plugin architecture, Offline-first architecture with sync strategies
• State & Data Management: SwiftUI State, ObservableObject, Redux-like patterns, Compose State Hoisting, ViewModel, Local storage, Caching and sync mechanisms
• Security: Secure Enclave / Keystore usage, Certificate pinning, Token lifecycle management (OAuth2, PKCE), Device binding, jailbreak/root detection
• Performance Engineering: App startup optimization, Rendering performance (SwiftUI vs UIKit, Compose vs XML), Memory & battery optimization, Profiling tools
• DevOps & Tooling: CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), App Store / Play Store release management, Feature flags, remote config, Crash analytics (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry)
