Mobile Engineers are responsible for ensuring that apps are user-friendly, secure, and perform smoothly across various devices. Their work often includes collaborating with designers, backend developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.

Job description

ISG is hiring a Civil Construction Engineer to join our Transportation and Public Works teams to enhance our expanding construction inspection, management, and administration services.

Our Transportation and Public Works teams serve WisDOT, County, and City clients throughout Wisconsin and are comprised of folks in our La Crosse and Green Bay and Brookfield offices. We are a full-service, multi-disciplinary team, who perform award winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.

Our Construction Administration leader in Eastern Wisconsin is Heath Hagner, P.E., who brings nearly 25+ years of experience in the Wisconsin transportation industry, including working in multiple WisDOT Regions and cities. You will closely with Heath, as well as, Joel Goodenough, Senior Project Manager, who has a superior knowledge of standards and exceptional customer service, allowing him to thrive while working on some of the largest and most complex projects in Western Wisconsin.
Our Transportation & Public Works civil construction engineers are responsible for the following:
  • Management of WisDOT, County, and City transportation construction projects
  • Conduct professional meetings including pre-construction, public information and weekly construction meetings
  • Perform civil engineering calculations; prepare engineering plans, designs and reports and construction oversight including inspection when needed
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities and contractors
  • Deliver project documents within prescribed budgetary and time constrains while satisfying client requirements
  • Develop and enhance client relationships and business growth
  • Prioritize overall project management and ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers and technical support staff
  • Assist with functional and detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects when in the office
  • Contract administration of municipal projects
As an employee owner at ISG, you will continue to grow in your career. You'll learn from us, and we'll learn from you. You'll have the freedom and autonomy to do your best work with plenty of support along the way.

Check out our portfolio to view some projects we've worked on recently that might give you a better sense of what you'll be doing day to day.
We've listed a compensation range that reflects our expectations for this role, including both direct and indirect components.  We understand that your experience and value may fall outside of this range. If you feel you're a strong fit but your compensation needs differ, we're open to a conversation-let's talk.
We're seeking a construction professional with a strong foundation in public infrastructure administration. Experience with WisDOT standards and Civil 3D is a plus, but not required. What matters most is your technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, and collaborative mindset.

Whether you have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, you should be comfortable leading projects independently and contributing to team growth. A proven track record and solid references are essential.

This field-based role involves travel to job sites. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Our mobile-equipped vehicles keep you connected and supported on the go.

We value year-round construction staff and seek someone adaptable, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges-even beyond their comfort zone.
ISG pays very competitively to attract the top talent for our team and partners. We think it's worth it if we find ways to pay for ourselves.

Benefits at ISG are all about helping you lead a healthy life outside of work. While we all know we can't control construction schedules and that there are two seasons in the upper Midwest (winter and construction), we don't micromanage your productivity once our construction responsibilities are fulfilled. Quality time to focus on work starts with quality time to think, exercise, cook a meal, be active, be with family -- time to yourself.

Full-time employees here at ISG get to be a part of such a firm, thanks largely to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We are 100% owned by our employees! Through broader ownership, and the ability to be directly connected to performance, our culture of accountability and opportunism is amplified. Put simply, everyone works hard = everyone benefits, not just an elite group.
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • Paid time off, pro-rated amount available on your start date
  • Paid holidays and paid volunteer time
  • Paid parental leave
  • Bi-annual profit sharing
  • Employee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP)
  • 401K retirement plan
  • Life insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Bereavement leave
  • Supplemental voluntary benefits
  • Short term and long-term disability
  • Parking reimbursement, varies on office location
  • Cell phone plan reimbursement
  • Mileage reimbursement for ISG-approved travel
