Job description

KI is looking for a Director of Project Engineering to join our Design team at our corporate facility in Green Bay!  The Director of Project Engineering, coordinates and manages the design engineering group for the company.  As director of project engineering, they will oversee projects, and often conduct hands-on work for projects as well. They typically work with their engineering staff and have some interaction with customers, clients, and marketing.  Working knowledge of many company departments are required to ensure a positive outcome for all projects.  Working knowledge of continual improvement is part of each and every project and task. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and lead the activities of multiple project teams including project engineering.
  • Responsible for product development projects' cost, schedule, and execution.
  • Responsible for ensuring the economic feasibility and related manufacturing efficiency of a proposed design.
  • Analyze financial information related to projects. 
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve all new product development-related procedures to best leverage our NPD engine.
  • Manage Testing Programs.
  • Manage testing related to GSA contract products and IFMA compliant products.
  • Interact with outside consultants on new product development.

What you Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in manufacturing and new product development.
  • Two-to-five years working experience in multi-functional new product development team process.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in leading cross-functional development teams and dealing with multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Professional Engineer Certification preferred.
  • Project management skills with ability to oversee/lead multiple product development projects.
  • Interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with key personnel across multiple disciplines to accomplish personal objectives.
  • Financial skills to develop and maintain project related expense and capital budgets as well as ensure economic feasibility of proposed projects.
