Job Description
Functioning with clinical guidance of the Medical Director, the staff nurse participates in the assessment and care of clinical patients. This involves a variety of tasks requiring judgement born of a solid knowledge and expertise in general nursing theory. In addition to providing direct patient care, the Staff Nurse will work collaboratively with the Medication Assistant Team, providing clinical support and assistance as needed. The Staff Nurse will also provide coverage and support to the School-Based Mobile Team as needed, including assisting with school-based and community events. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to the needs of multiple clinical programs while maintaining high standards of patient care. The duties include the following:
  • Interacts with patients and employees in a respectful manner consistent with the mission and values of CareSouth Carolina.
  • Provides the required documentation for every visit.
  • Maintains a clean environment for performing patient care.
  • Injections will be administered using the 7 patient administration rights (right patient, right time, right medication, right route, right dose, right reason, right documentation)
  • Performs callbacks in a timely manner according to CSC policy.
  • Assists with referrals as needed in a timely manner according to CSC policy.
  • Checks and responds to emails in a timely manner
  • Completes all assignments in Relias and signs all documents in PowerDMS in a timely manner.
  • Willingly performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree/diploma required
  • One (1) to three (3) year experience in field or related field.
  • Current Licensure in the state of SC as an Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Must be proficient with EMR and have the ability to provide detailed patient charting.
  • Must be able to develop caring relationships with patients and treat them with respect and empathy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-directed, flexible, and comfortable working independently
  • Pediatric experience preferred
Hours
Monday - Friday, Full Time 40 hours per week.
